Microsoft launches fund for startups that can reach $ 300 million

The Microsoft Ventures, the investment arm of Microsoft, and BES Financial Assets (BESAF) announced on Thursday (13) the launch of an investment fund focusing on development in startups, young technology-based companies in Brazil.

Dubbed Brazil Accelerated Start-ups, the fund also has Qualcomm among members. The operation starts with U.S. $ 10 million already raised, but can reach up to U.S. $ 300 million.

Investments between £ 120,000 and £ 3 million, band that startups often fail to capture along the accelerator or funds to sustain its growth will be offered.

The fund aims to invest in startups focused on education, defense and cyber security, healthcare, oil and gas, energy, aerospace and aeronautics, sports, agriculture and environmental events, finance, telecommunications, mining and strategic technologies.

At first, the fund will use the selection process Accelerates Partners network accelerator composed of independent members.

The BESAF is an asset management subsidiary BES Investimento do Brazil Financial Assets and Holy Spirit.
